The Hernando Christian Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Hernando Leopards at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hernando took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Hernando Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.
Hernando Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Friday. They took down First Academy 48-33.
Kelly Wong was her usual excellent self, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Breely Miller, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Hernando suffered a tough 59-36 loss at the hands of Springstead on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Hernando can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 283rd, while Springstead is ranked 138th).
Despite the defeat, Hernando got a solid performance out of Kayla Holloman, who scored 16 points. The game was Holloman's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah Condron, who scored eight points.
Hernando Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-4-1. As for Hernando, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Hernando Christian Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Hernando in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, but they still walked away with a 52-46 victory. Will Hernando Christian Academy repeat their success, or does Hernando have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
