Concord has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Northwest Cabarrus Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Concord posted their biggest victory yet this season on Friday. They really took it to Carson for the full four quarters, racking up a 57-29 win at home. The victory was just what Concord needed coming off of a 73-52 loss in their prior game.
Kaylin Williams had a dynamite game for Concord, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. Myajah Nix was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight steals and seven assists.
Meanwhile, Northwest Cabarrus can now show off 11 landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by South Rowan at home to the tune of 56-12. Given Northwest Cabarrus' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while South Rowan is ranked 443rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Concord's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Northwest Cabarrus, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Concord took a serious blow against Northwest Cabarrus in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 71-30. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Concord was down 36-16.
