After flying high against the Holy Trinity Catholic Celtics on Saturday, the Providence Prep Rams came back down to earth. Providence Prep took a 37-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oglesby. Providence Prep was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Oglesby apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Despite the loss, Providence Prep still got an impressive performance from Lilly Hodge, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 16 rebounds. The matchup was Hodge's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Vernon, who scored 14 points.
Providence Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Oglesby, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Providence Prep will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Live Oak Classical at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Live Oak Classical focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday. As for Oglesby, they will head out on the road to face off against Bruceville-Eddy at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday.
