Musselman has gone 9-1 against Spring Mills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Musselman will head out to square off against Spring Mills at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
On Thursday, Musselman got the win against Hampshire by a conclusive 9-2. The Applemen haven't had any issues with the Trojans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Taryn Boyles and Tannor Sharp did most of the damage at the plate: Boyles scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Sharp went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That stolen base was Boyles' first of the season. Another player making a difference was Alex Whitmer, who scored a run and stole a base.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Spring Mills made sure to put some runs up on the board against Heritage Academy on Tuesday. Spring Mills blew past Heritage Academy 12-1. The result was nothing new for the Cardinals, who have now won three matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
Rylan Swartz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Swartz was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Brayden Clark looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.
Back at the plate, JP Sweeney was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Bryce Anders was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
Spring Mills' record now sits at 3-1. As for Musselman, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-3.
Musselman took their win against Spring Mills in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Musselman since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
