Softball Recap: Gray Collegiate Academy Takes Down Ranked Gilbert

Gray Collegiate Academy faced Gilbert in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The War Eagles put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 10-0 win. The War Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by seven runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Kaylan Boudreau, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Robenson, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Gray Collegiate Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Gilbert, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 19-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gray Collegiate Academy will head out to face off against Dutch Fork at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Gilbert, they will venture away from home to take on Irmo at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Yellow Jackets at the right time seeing as the Yellow Jackets are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
