University is a perfect 3-0 against Weld Central since March of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Rebels at 6:00 p.m. University will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
University came out on top against The Academy on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Wildcats. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

University let Brody Duran and Will Korby run wild. Duran went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI, while Korby got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Those three hits gave Duran a new career-high. Jackson Belt also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
University always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Weld Central came up short against Sterling on Friday and fell 9-4. The Rebels haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Nathan Dinges made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. He has become a key player for Weld Central: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 5-12 otherwise. Luke Witzel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
University pushed their record up to 17-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Weld Central, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. University has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Weld Central struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
University took their win against Weld Central in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 19-0 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
