The Lauralton Hall Crusaders will head out on the road to take on the Guilford Grizzlies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lauralton Hall is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Lauralton Hall, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-34 loss to Amity Regional. While losing is never fun, Lauralton Hall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut basketball rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Amity Regional is ranked 49th).
Meanwhile, Guilford was the victim of a tough 59-36 defeat at the hands of North Haven on Tuesday. Guilford has not had much luck with North Haven recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Guilford's loss came about despite a quality game from Keira Reynolds, who scored 16 points along with six steals. Reynolds is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Alexa Kukta was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Lauralton Hall has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Guilford, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-12.
Lauralton Hall couldn't quite finish off Guilford when the teams last played back in January and fell 55-53. Can Lauralton Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
