Academy recap October 1, 2013
Brethren Christian was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Academy. Earlier in the week, the Warriors defeated Fairmont Prep 35-21.
Calvary Chapel moved up to 927 from 957 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Grizzlies climbed the ranks as a result of besting Southlands Christian 14-13.
Sage Hill's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robbie Rosoff threw for 110 and 3 touchdowns and Will Burns had 55 yards receiving. On the ground Beau Roth chipped in 203 yards.
He was 5-12 with 1 interception.
Andrew Escandon made the biggest impact on defense this week as Calvary Chapel topped the Eagles. The 5-foot-10 sophomore.
Roth was a passing and rushing force as the Lightning fell to Classical Academy. Roth's favorite target this week was Burns, who caught 3 passes for 55 yards.
Rosoff put up the best numbers in passing as Sage Hill fell to Classical Academy.
Thomas Laidlaw's team and Southlands Christian played the closest game in the league this week, with Thomas Laidlaw's team eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Daniel Castro threw for 34 yards and ran for 23 yards during the win.
