If Orange was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of J.F. Webb last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers fell just short of the Seaforth Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Panthers' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Orange took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 24-26, 17-25, 25-23, 15-10.
Aubrey Jordan paced Orange's offense, picking up 16 kills. Jordan got some help from Sawyer White and her 24 assists. Mariah Poole controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Seaforth can attribute much of their success to Isabelle Valgus, who had 15 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Valgus has posted over her last seven games. Taylor Perry also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Orange's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Seaforth, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4.
Looking ahead, Orange will head out on the road to square off against Cedar Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seaforth, they have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Green Level on the 17th.
