The Bryant Hurricanes will venture away from home to face off against the St. Martin Yellow Jackets at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Bryant is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.2 points per game this season.
On Tuesday, Bryant came up short against Spanish Fort and fell 54-46. The Hurricanes have struggled against the Toros recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Parker Foultz, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 14 points and five boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last four games he's played. Leroy Murry also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.
Meanwhile, St. Martin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Thursday as they fell 64-58 to Robertsdale.
Like Bryant, St. Martin lost despite seeing results from several players. Reginald 'RJ' Keys led the charge by shooting 67% from the field en route to 19 points and six rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Keys now owns an excellent 47.3% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Markel Simmons, who posted nine points in addition to eight boards and three steals.
St. Martin's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Bryant, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's contest: Bryant has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 35.8% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for St. Martin, though, as they've only made 18.3% of their threes this season. Given Bryant's sizable advantage in that area, the Yellow Jackets will need to find a way to close that gap.
Bryant took a serious blow against St. Martin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 76-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Yellow Jackets' Tyson Walker, who went 7-for-10 from beyond the arc to rack up 25 points. Now that the Hurricanes know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
