It was a good run, but The West Point Pointers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (48-8), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The low total for they limited their streak of high-flying scores to four in a row.
It was another big night for James Stewart, who rushed for 159 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Stewart hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Trenton Stallings was another key contributor, throwing for 109 yards and two touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes.
West Point's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for King William, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Point will square off against Charles City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Charles City comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for King William, they will head out on the road to face off against King & Queen Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
