The Village Christian Crusaders will face off against the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. Hopefully Village Christian focused on turnovers this week  as the team gave up 24 on Wednesday.
 Village Christian fought the good fight in their overtime  contest against Canyon  but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of  59-56.
 The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was  Sandrina Panaligan, who  dropped  a double-double on 18 points and ten  rebounds.  Madison Mulligan was another key player,  almost  dropping  a double-double on 16 points and nine  steals.
 Even though they lost, Village Christian  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 19  offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canyon only pulled down four.
 Meanwhile, Granada Hills Charter beat Milken 53-40  on Monday. That's two games straight that the Highlanders have won by  exactly 13  points.
 The  win made it two in a row for Granada Hills Charter and  bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Village Christian, their defeat  ended  a  seven-game streak of away wins  dating back to last season and  brought them to 0-2.
 Village Christian might still be hurting after the  57-36 loss they got from Granada Hills Charter  when the teams last played  back in January of 2020. Can Village Christian avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
