Delta has gone 7-1 against South Sevier recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Delta is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 42 points on October 10th, they were much more limited against Emery last Friday. They and the Spartans were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 7-6 defeat. The Rabbits haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Delta got top-tier performance from Jett Rawlinson, who rushed for 265 yards and one score while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Rawlinson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards.
Delta didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Rawlinson, Korver Pace, Bronx Hunt, and McCrae Wade picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Emery's side was Carter Anderson, who picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles.
Meanwhile, South Sevier suffered their biggest defeat since September 20, 2024 last Friday. They were beaten by San Juan 66-21. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the Rams' biggest loss of the season was also their lowest-scoring.
Although South Sevier took the loss, they still got scores from Cooper Castle, Hudson Smith, and Grady Heaps.
Delta's record is now 2-7. As for South Sevier, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Delta has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 213.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like South Sevier struggles in that department as they've been averaging 233.1 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Delta was dealt a bruising 69-27 defeat at the hands of South Sevier when the teams last played back in September. Can the Rabbits avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
