The Woodbridge Warriors managed to keep up with the University Trojans until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Woodbridge ended up on the wrong side of a tough 35-13 walloping at the hands of University. Woodbridge was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as University apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Woodbridge's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mikey Rubino, who picked up 98 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Among those leading the charge was Blaine Anderson, who threw for 118 yards and two touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Zephyr Reynolds was in the mix as well, providing University with two touchdowns.
Woodbridge's defeat was their fifth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-9. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 9.2 points per game. As for University, their victory bumped their record up to 4-6.
Woodbridge will look to defend their home field on Friday against Beckman at 7:00 p.m. As for University, they will head out on the road to face off against Irvine at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Irvine presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than University in California (Irvine is ranked 235th, while University is ranked 589th).
