2A Conference 8 recap November 5, 2013
T.W. Andrews added to the longest winning streak in 2A Conference 8 this week by beating Wheatmore, 64-15. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Red Raiders.
Providence Grove and Trinity played the most contested game in the league this week, with Providence Grove eventually emerging with a 21-20 victory.
On the heels of Aaron Cox and DJ Pratt, the Bulldogs have had great success on offense. Cox leads the league in passing with 1,055 yards, while Pratt has rushed for 670 yards this season. T.W. Andrews' Justin Lea leads the league in receiving yards with 400 on 16 catches.
Fans will be treated to a premier battle in the secondary when Rodney Mckoy's team's Lea goes up against Trinity's Austin Thompson.
The Red Raiders are currently in first, while Clayton Trivett's team is in fourth.
Providence Grove made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 11,973 from 12,703. The improvement was largely due to a 21-20 victory over the Bulldogs last week.
