South Summit saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came up short against Olympus, falling 12-4. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Emma Broadbent was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brinley Stapleton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wasatch). Everything went their way against Park City on Monday as Wasatch made off with a 19-1 win. With that victory, the Wasps brought their scoring average up to 6.7 runs per game.
Mali Evans was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Peyton Sandlund, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three RBI, and two runs.

Wasatch's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for South Summit, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. South Summit hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .451. However, it's not like Wasatch struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went South Summit's way against Wasatch in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, as South Summit made off with a 16-5 victory. Does South Summit have another victory up their sleeve, or will Wasatch turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
