Havelock smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led West Carteret over Pamlico County in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that West Carteret blew Pamlico County out of the water with an 84-37 final score. The Patriots have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 27 points or more this season.
Havelock better keep an eye on Jay Murray. He was instrumental in West Carteret's win, going 7 of 9 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jejuan Tripp, who posted 12 points.
The victory got Havelock back to even at 3-3. As for West Carteret, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Havelock has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 29.8 boards per game. However, it's not like West Carteret struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.5 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
