It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Henderson Collegiate Pride ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top against Neuse Charter by a score of 74-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Adrian Mayes was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 21 rebounds. The game was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dillion Baskerville, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Neuse Charter still got an impressive performance from Jayvin Bradley, who scored 35 points. The contest was Bradley's third in a row with at least ten points. Tyron Crippen was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Henderson Collegiate and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Neuse Charter, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
Henderson Collegiate will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rolesville at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th. Neuse Charter will be home for the holidays to greet Dixon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
