Community School of Davidson won the last time they faced Christ the King and things went their way on Friday too. The Spartans walked away with a 28-21 victory over the Crusaders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Nixon Willis went supernova, rushing for 152 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Community School of Davidson was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 225 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Another reason for the win was Community School of Davidson's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Gregg Jones, Collin McWilliams, and Cade Rasmussen, who each picked up one sack apiece. Jones was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making 11 total tackles.

Despite the loss, Christ the King still got an impressive performance from Brennen Wallace, who rushed for 114 yards and two TDs. Wallace also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making eight total tackles and defending one pass.

Community School of Davidson's record is now 2-3. As for Christ the King, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 4-2 record.

Coincidentally, Community School of Davidson and Christ the King will both be playing Lake Norman Charter the next time they take the field. The Spartans will head out to face the Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Crusaders will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on October 10.
