River Mill won the last time they faced Ascend Leadership and things went their way on Thursday too. Summer Basden made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowed only one earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Basden was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Giselle Montes was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Five bases. while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Pryce Lovette was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.
River Mill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ascend Leadership only posted an OBP of .478.
