The Fort Wayne Wayne Generals will play host again and welcome the Culver Academies Eagles, where tip off is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fort Wayne Wayne gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They blew past Norwell 80-55. Given Fort Wayne Wayne's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Norwell is ranked 133rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jevon Lewis was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 15 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 9 assists. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Comer, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Culver Academies didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Marquette Catholic on Thursday, but they still walked away with a 44-39 win. The win was just what Culver Academies needed coming off of a 68-44 defeat in their prior match.
Fort Wayne Wayne has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. As for Culver Academies, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Fort Wayne Wayne skirted past Culver Academies 59-57 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Will Fort Wayne Wayne repeat their success, or does Culver Academies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
