Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Early College Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Invest Collegiate Imagine, Blue Ridge Early College was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Shining Rock Classical Academy Falcons by a score of 44-35. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 49-40 two weeks ago.

Blue Ridge Early College got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Anthony Baumgarner out in front who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. Isaiah Palestino was another key player, putting up four points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.

Despite the defeat, Shining Rock Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Hudson Moody made all 11 shots he took racking up 22 points. That was a full 62.9% of Shining Rock Classical Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Schomberg, who put up six points.
