Even though the Salisbury Hornets scored an imposing 71 points on Friday, the Chambers Cougars still came out on top. The stars were shining brightly for Chambers in a 87-71 win over Salisbury. That's another feather in the cap for Chambers, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Chambers' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Markus Kerr, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. The game was Kerr's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Maurio Hanson II, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Despite the loss, Salisbury still got an impressive performance from Jayden ?Juke? Harris, who scored 28 points along with six rebounds. Harris scored a full 39.4% of Salisbury's points, the tenth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Keial Matthews, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Even though they lost, Salisbury were working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chambers only racked up 21 assists.
Chambers is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Salisbury, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
