East Nicolaus is 9-1 against Colusa since May of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Spartans will square off against the RedHawks at 4:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
East Nicolaus' pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Paradise with a sharp 12-0 win. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won three matches in a row.

Stevie Knight made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning two runs and three stolen bases. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Gabby Sotelo was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Richie Farris was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
East Nicolaus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Paradise only posted an OBP of .176.
Meanwhile, Colusa can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They came out on top against Truckee by a score of 8-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Like East Nicolaus, Colusa also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Garcia. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elli Santana, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Lay, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
East Nicolaus' record now sits at 14-5. As for Colusa, their record is now 16-5.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. East Nicolaus has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .496. However, it's not like Colusa struggles in that department as they've averaged .499. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went East Nicolaus' way against Colusa when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as East Nicolaus made off with a 14-0 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the RedHawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
