The McKinley Red Dragons were the 74-58 winner over the Mineral Ridge Rams when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. McKinley fell 61-52 to Mineral Ridge on Saturday.
McKinley's loss came despite strong showings from Stef Dorsey and True Carey-Hardin. Dorsey scored ten points along with six steals, while Carey-Hardin scored 18 points along with two blocks. That's the first time this season that Carey-Hardin posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Avon Fryer, who scored nine points.
McKinley's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Mineral Ridge, their win bumped their record up to 5-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McKinley will take on Poland Seminary at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poland Seminary will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Mineral Ridge, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on McDonald at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
