The Homer-Center Wildcats will take on the Penns Valley Area Rams at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Homer-Center is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Homer-Center will bounce into Saturday's contest after beating United, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Homer-Center was the clear victor by an 8-2 margin over United on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Wildcats have beaten the Lions on their field since May 3, 2019.

Dom Shimko spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up seven Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Braden Dunn, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Connor Deyarmin, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Dunn wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Homer-Center kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as United only managed five hits.

Meanwhile, Penns Valley Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 7-1 to Bishop Guilfoyle.

Penns Valley Area's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Homer-Center, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
