The First Academy Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Lake Mary Prep Griffins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. First Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.5 runs per game this season.

First Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Oasis Christian on Monday. First Academy blew past Oasis Christian 19-8. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by ten runs or more this season.

Dylan Bell was a standout: he scored two runs while going 4-for-5. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Scouten, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.

Bell wasn't the only one working in the hit department: First Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 21 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, Lake Mary Prep unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against Legacy Charter, falling 7-1. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Griffins couldn't push the score so high this time.

First Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Mary Prep, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Lake Mary Prep's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: First Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .432. It's a different story for Lake Mary Prep, though, as they've only averaged .196. Will they be able to contain First Academy's hitters?

Everything went First Academy's way against Lake Mary Prep in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as First Academy made off with a 12-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for First Academy since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
