Hamilton Southeastern and Brownsburg are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Royals will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hamilton Southeastern is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season.
Hamilton Southeastern is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Halls just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Red Devils by a score of 7-6.
Dylan Cope was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. What's more, he gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in May of 2024.
At the plate, Colin Kendrick was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Parker O'Steen was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double.
Meanwhile, Brownsburg beat Lawrence North 9-5 on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.
Ethan Cougill made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Cougill was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other pitching news, Ethan Gladstein looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
Back at the plate, Jackson Wagner was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Colin McNeer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Brownsburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence North only posted an OBP of .303.
Brownsburg's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Hamilton Southeastern took their victory against Brownsburg when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-0 score. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
