Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They took a 52-38 bruising from the Warriors on Wednesday. Ellie Bross was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 24 rebounds for Calvary Christian. Another player making a difference was Cadyn Wiebe, who scored ten points along with three steals.
St. Petersburg Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Calvary Christian, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
St. Petersburg Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Calvary Christian is on the road again on Friday and plays Clearwater Central Catholic on February 9th. Calvary Christian's defense has only allowed 28.6 points per game this season, so Clearwater Central Catholic's offense will have their work cut out for them.
