The Pocahontas County Warriors lost against the Moorefield Yellow Jackets back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Pocahontas County fell 45-32 to Moorefield. Pocahontas County has not had much luck with Moorefield recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Allyson Taylor was Pocahontas County's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Taylor also led the team in rebounds with eight.
Calli Propst took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Pocahontas County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Moorefield, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-0.
Pocahontas County will be playing at home against Greenbrier West at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Greenbrier West is ranked 22nd, while Pocahontas County is ranked 44th). As for Moorefield, they will face off against Petersburg at TBD on Tuesday.
