Oak Forest Academy waltzed into their match on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Parklane Academy Pioneers. The result was nothing new for the Yellowjackets, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Oak Forest Academy got a great performance from Brody Thomas as he tossed 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Thomas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Oak Forest Academy let Maison Bales and Kaul Perkins run wild. Bales got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one double, while Perkins went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one double. That's the most stolen bases Bales has posted since back in February. Blayke Danna was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Oak Forest Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in three consecutive games.

Oak Forest Academy's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for Parklane Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oak Forest Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Columbia Academy at 6:30 p.m. on April 8. As for Parklane Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bowling Green at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
