It was fun while it lasted, but Vanguard's undefeated season came to an end after four games on Monday. They were dealt a 60-28 defeat at the hands of The Villages Charter Buffalo. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-13.

Vanguard's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Sanaria Gunsby, who posted eight points and seven rebounds, and Canarrie Smith, who put up four points. Gunsby is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

The Villages Charter's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zion Mcrae, who had 20 points along with six assists and five boards. That's the most rebounds Mcrae has posted since back in January. Herva Brutus was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Vanguard fell to 4-1. As for The Villages Charter, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Vanguard will head out to challenge Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forest is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season. As for The Villages Charter, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-42 win against Buchholz on the 10th.
