Raleigh Charter and Franklin Academy are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2016, but not for long. The Raleigh Charter Phoenix will be playing in front of their home fans against the Franklin Academy Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Raleigh Charter has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5.
Last Tuesday, Raleigh Charter lost to NCSSM: Durham on the road by a decisive 49-34 margin. Raleigh Charter has not had much luck with NCSSM: Durham recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Franklin Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. Their rough 77-56 loss to North Johnston might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Franklin Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 342nd, while North Johnston is ranked 167th).
Raleigh Charter's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Franklin Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-8.
