University Prep is 9-1 against Yreka since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Both teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. University Prep knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully Yreka likes a good challenge.
University Prep put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Anderson 62-35 at home. Given University Prep's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while Anderson is ranked 1075th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Trey Pringle, who scored 14 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Baron Grooms, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Yreka scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 82-47 win over Central Valley. That looming 82-47 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Yreka yet this season.
University Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Yreka, they pushed their record up to 9-14 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
University Prep strolled past Yreka when the teams last played last Tuesday by a score of 74-56. Does University Prep have another victory up their sleeve, or will Yreka turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
