Two dominant signal callers in Shaan Patel and Davis Roup are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. After each having a week off, the Fulshear Chargers and the Cinco Ranch Cougars will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fulshear's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last eight contests.
Last Friday, Fulshear strolled past Alief Elsik with points to spare, taking the game 51-33. The Chargers pushed the score to 45-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Rams cut but never quite recovered from.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Fulshear was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 264 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive games.
Fulshear's defensive line stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. Karmelo Cunningham refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Liam Clay got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Cinco Ranch entered their tilt with Morton Ranch two weeks ago with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 52-14 victory over the Mavericks. The Cougars' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Cinco Ranch found their leader in sophomore Roup, who threw for 277 yards and five TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 50 yards and one score. Jacob Chevez also set a new season-high mark in receiving yards with 217.

The upcoming contest will be a clash of competing strengths. Fulshear has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 301.7 passing yards per game. Cinco Ranch, on the other hand, has relied on a stout run game: they average 149 rushing yards per game. So which strategy will prevail on Friday? There's only one way to find out.
