Harding and Mathews are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Harding Skippers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mathews Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harding is out to stop a four-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Harding scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 42-22 margin over Lordstown. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Harding has managed all season.
Madisen Mcfadden was the offensive standout of the match as she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Michel, who scored four points along with 14 rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Mathews took a serious blow against St. John on Monday, falling 60-11. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mathews has scored all season.
Harding's win bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Mathews, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.
Harding came up short against Mathews when the teams last played back in January, falling 66-53. Thankfully for Harding, Brooke Bauer (who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and five assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
