The Community Christian Warriors were the 62-55 winner over the Carlisle County Comets when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Community Christian was the victim of a rough 64-39 defeat at the hands of the Comets on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Community Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 272nd, while the Comets are ranked 133rd).
Carter Burnett was his usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals for Carlisle County. Burnett continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kenton Arnold, who scored five points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Community Christian has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Carlisle County, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home.
The two teams will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Carlisle County, they will head out on the road to face off against the Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
