The Escalon Cougars will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Acalanes Dons at 7:30 p.m. on December 1st. Escalon has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 334 points over their last seven contests.
Escalon extended their postseason success on Friday against Patterson. They pulled ahead with a 36-35 photo finish over the Tigers. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Escalon's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Donovan Rozevink, who threw for 239 yards and four touchdowns, and Sam Jimenez, who picked up 128 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Rozevink hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games.
Another reason for the win was Escalon's imposing defensive line, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, Nico Franzia was the leader with two sacks.
Meanwhile, Acalanes has more to be thankful for after their match against San Marin on Friday. Acalanes took down San Marin 24-7. Winning may never get old, but Acalanes sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
The critical scores for Acalanes came from Niko White, Paul Kuhner, and Sully Bailey.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 12-1.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as Escalon and Acalanes have no problem gaining yardage. Escalon has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 418.5 total yards per game. However, it's not like Acalanes struggles in that department as they've been averaging 401.3 per game.
