On Saturday, the Green River Wolves faced the Pinedale Wranglers in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Green River took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pinedale. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Green River has scored all season.
Elyn Bowers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Pinedale, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Bowers has scored at least 25% of Pinedale's points. Erica Wilson was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with four steals.
Green River has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season. As for Pinedale, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1.
Green River will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jackson Hole at 11:30 a.m. on January 20, 2024. Pinedale and Kemmerer will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Kemmerer is ranked 22nd, while Pinedale is ranked 24th).
