The St. Dominic Bayhawks won the last time they faced the Holy Trinity Titans, and things went their way on Tuesday too. St. Dominic snuck past Holy Trinity with a 50-44 victory. Given St. Dominic's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 95th, while Holy Trinity is ranked 451st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kiera Kozlowski, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Kozlowski continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Maya Logie, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Holy Trinity struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They are winless (0-3) when they just don't pass the ball.
St. Dominic's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points per game. As for Holy Trinity, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Dominic will face off against St. Anthony's at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holy Trinity, they will head out on the road to face off against Our Lady of Mercy Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Holy Trinity focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Tuesday.
