Wayne County had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.2 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. They breezed past the Perry County Vikings to the tune of 67-37. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Several Vikings players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylee Byrd, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Alayna Thornton, who scored five points and three steals.

Wayne County's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.9 points over those games. As for Perry County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-15 record this season.
