The Gallatin Raptors will square off against the Bozeman Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bozeman will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Gallatin extended their winning streak to four on Friday. The Raptors claimed a resounding 34-7 victory over Russell.
Gallatin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Dahlke, who picked up 143 receiving yards and one TD, and also rushed for 43 yards and one touchdown. Dahlke was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield on a catch that went for 57 yards. Bobby Gutzman was another key pass catcher, picking up 161 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Gallatin proved: they limited Russell to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Sam Talbot for the heroic effort on defense: he. Gallatin hasn't allowed more than 4.2 yards per carry in three consecutive contests.
Gallatin didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Tyson Scheel and Darwin Spotted.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bozeman). They were the clear victors by a 70-50 margin over Great Falls on Friday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 56-28.
Gallatin better keep an eye on Van Shockley. He was instrumental in Bozeman's win, throwing for 375 yards and five TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punching in a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Thanks to that big game, Shockley is now up to 13 passing touchdowns on the season. 105 of Shockley's passing yards were hauled in by Logan Humphrey.
Gallatin's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Bozeman, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
Gallatin was able to grind out a solid victory over Bozeman in their previous matchup back in September of 2024, winning 35-27. Do the Raptors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
