Having just played yesterday, the Larue County Hawks will get right back to it and host the North Oldham Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on February 10th. One thing working in Larue County's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
On Friday, Larue County was able to grind out a solid win over Bethlehem, taking the game 64-52.
Larue County found their leader in underclassman Landon Blakey, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Blakey hasn't dropped below 15 points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Daniel Allen, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Owen County typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday North Oldham proved too difficult a challenge. They took down the Rebels 68-51. Given North Oldham's advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Owen County is ranked 105th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Larue County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for North Oldham, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-3.
