The Las Plumas Thunderbirds''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 41-6 loss at the hands of Orland. Las Plumas was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.
Orland got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Manny Martin out in front who rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Zane Frailey was another key contributor, rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries.
Las Plumas' defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Orland, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Las Plumas will take on Gridley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Gridley is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Orland, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Corning at 5:30 p.m. Corning is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
