It was a good run, but The Westminster Christian Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a tough 41-18 defeat at the hands of Montgomery. Westminster Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Montgomery apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Westminster Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was David Beazley, who picked up 161 receiving yards and a touchdown. Another player making a difference was Dane Fontnote, who rushed for 82 yards and a touchdown.
Jackson Nelson had a dynamite game for Montgomery, rushing for 275 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Nelson's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Jacorian Shepherd and his 82 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Montgomery's win.
Westminster Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Montgomery, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 5-5 record this season.
Westminster Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Montgomery will head out on the road to face off against Logansport on Thursday. Logansport presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Montgomery in Louisiana (Logansport is ranked 61st, while Montgomery is ranked 250th).
