The Lanier County Bulldogs won the last time they faced the Atkinson County Rebels, and things went their way on Friday too. Lanier County really took it to Atkinson County for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-13 win at home. With Lanier County ahead 49-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Lanier County found their leader in underclassman Drake Wolford, who rushed for 87 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and also threw for 94 yards and three touchdowns. Wolford was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards. Nehemiah Davis was in the mix too, providing Lanier County with two touchdowns.
The win makes it two in a row for Lanier County and bumps their season record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.5 points. As for Atkinson County, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-9.
Lanier County will head out on the road to face off against Charlton County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Atkinson County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Turner County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
