Baseball Game Preview: Wickliffe Blue Devils vs. Cardinal Huskies

For the second straight game, Wickliffe will face off against Cardinal. The Blue Devils will face off against the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wickliffe has three straight victories, Cardinal has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Wickliffe's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Cardinal. Considering the Blue Devils have won six contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Liam Widemire was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. In other batting news, Wickliffe got a massive performance out of Frankie Bucar, who went 1-for-2 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave Bucar a new career-high. Nunzio Zivnoska was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
