The Warren Central Warriors will square off against the Avon Orioles at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Warren Central gave up the first runs on Wednesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over Pike. The game was the first time the Warriors have beaten the Red Devils on their field since April 18, 2023.

| 04/08/26 vs Indianapolis Kings | 1 |
Dylan Thimpson made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Warren Central is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 2-6 otherwise. Thimpson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Anthony Dennison was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Avon came out on top against Hamilton Southeastern on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run fourth inning. The Orioles put the hurt on the Royals with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Orioles, who have now won four matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Like Warren Central, Avon also got a great game from a two-way player: Christian Wessel. He struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and not a single walk). Wessel has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Caleb Wessel, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Kaven Tislow, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Avon hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive contests.
Avon's victory ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 5-6-1. As for Warren Central, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 4-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Warren Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Avon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
