The Jemison Panthers lost against the Chilton County Tigers back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Jemison took a serious blow against Chilton County, falling 67-23. Jemison was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.
Jemison's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Braelyn Bradford, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. Bradford scored a full 43.5% of Jemison's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trinity Bean, who scored 8 points.
Chilton County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyeshia Williams, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Chilton County's points. Another player making a difference was Ishunti Brown, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Jemison now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Chilton County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jemison will face off against Thorsby at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chilton County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Elmore County at 6:00 p.m. on December 5th.
