The North Schuylkill Spartans will challenge the Whitehall Zephyrs at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
North Schuylkill took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Panther Valley. Considering the Spartans have won four games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Chase Slotcavage spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, North Schuylkill got a massive performance out of Landen Smith, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Smith a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hunter Rogers, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
North Schuylkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Panther Valley only posted a batting average of .160.
Meanwhile, Whitehall waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Trojans. The game was the first time the Zephyrs have beaten the Trojans on their field since April 23, 2022.
Whitehall also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and he was also dialed-in: Jack Lloyd gave up only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Seth Hoderewski was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Zack Schaedel was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Whitehall's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for North Schuylkill, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-8 record.
